Commercial Building

This project merges contemporary nightlife design within the constraints of an existing heritage building and a tightly restricted budget, transforming a compact site into an energetic social destination. Every space is meticulously planned. Maximising usable space and creating seamless transitions, ensuring comfort and flow for both standing and seated guests while overcoming challenging heritage constraints. With a more intimate scale than many of Melbourne’s large nightlife venues, this venue focuses on human proportions, immersive lighting, and a bold modern aesthetic that resonates with today’s patrons and sets it apart in the city’s competitive nightlife scene.

Despite severe budget cuts after stage 1, and a challenging builder transition, I led coordination between client, builder, consultants, and building surveyor to resolve critical issues and keep the opening on track. The result is a vibrant, welcoming venue that celebrates music, movement, and connection in a unique heritage setting.
